    No, but if you had the capability to join the old civil protection and assuming you haven't got worse or massively inactive (as in, never playing even when the server goes live) then you'd probably be able to get in.

    Also are apps going to be open soon or is this just like a huge preliminary thing?

    Sometime in closed beta yes.

    EDIT: Guessing anyway, hard to tell at this point - but the plan is to have at least a few police prior to the gamemode going live.

    Yeah it's not finished yet although there's decent progress on both the precinct and the coding, so hopefully it won't be too long a wait before it can start being tested - and subsequently can start doing apps after.
