Yea, it seems interesting, however it sounds too similar to Dead Rising. They said its an open world zombie gameplay.
Is Dead Rising the only series that is allowed to do that? I'm interested to see how this game will turn out.
Of course not, but they most likely want to have a unique game play that will define their game, and it may be a little harder to do that when a game is out that already has game play similar to the style they are oriented to. People will make the connection between new games and old games they have played otherwise they may fall through the cracks of awesome stand alone and blatant rip-off.
I hear it's in first person, so I don't think it's going to be THAT similar to Dead Rising. I'm waiting for gameplay videos though, but it certainly looks interesting.
