    I believe Voobly makes sure everyone is on the same patch via the client, as all my friends ACQUIRED the game from different source and were fine.

    Well it's better than how the MSN Gaming Zone did it.

    You would get into the ingame lobby with one person on a different version and it would refuse to launch without saying why. Sometimes it let you launch when users were on different patches, it was just a bit eh.

    Persians are best at literally most maps, bar those few where sea is involved and vikings are better.

    War Elephants are OP. We should just go random civ for everyone to be honest. Map can be decided though, Preferably a non water combat orientated/transport map, as they tend to lag.

    Hm, Water maps never lagged back in the day. Is it to do with the lobbies or?

    Like 99% sure its the lobbies for Voobly w/ water maps, Not sure about the one Whitefang talked about.

    Edit: Could be me considering I hosted most of the times.

    We have broadband now though.

    Water looks iffy, but I've never seen it lag. Not in Tunngle.

    We should just all go on Age of Conquerors with 1.0c to be honest.

    Thats the version Voobly uses so thats what I'm on. I'm not a big fan of naval combat myself.

    Thing with AoC is it has some major imbalances and to be honest half the races suck. At least in AoK it's a far better experience.

    Fucking Eagle Warriors. And we can still play on the AoE:C patch, just don't allow the use of the new races and it should be fine. I'm saying that because my hamachi doesn't work and probably wouldn't be able to play without the assistance of one of those clients.
