Basically, i've had some people offer me maps and whatsnot, however some of them have looked plain shit in honesty, so here's some pointers and rules. Put effort in your map. The amount of garbage I've seen which is literally one long hall with a skybox is amazing. Try to give it a theme. A toybox? A Kitchen? A bedroom? Some wacky circus? This can add some real fun for the player. Even if it adds custom textures and bumps the map size up to 30mb+, don't worry. Compression and other things will take care of that. Make it fair for everyone Many people find being death so utterly boring. Give them fun and interactive traps, e.g. a turret that one can control. For the love of Gmod, don't add "admin rooms". Sure, the odd party room can be fun with flashing lights, but if you do, don't add anything to it apart from lights. Any map with an admin room will just be auto denied. Don't make some stupid giant dog robot (as in the NPC). Watch how much Ent data the map is making. Too much and you'll lag everyone and the server. Try to compile in Ep2. It's not needed, however to get the best out of player movement and collisions, it's ideal. As Ironic as it is, stay away from Episode 2 / Portal textures. If you really have to use them, Pakrat them in. Give your entities valid names. Don't leave them blank or do asdf. Doing this helps if I need to change something via lua. That's a general list. I may add more at a later date.

I was wondering, how do I set up a map for DR (such as death and runner spawns)? Anyone want to make a tutorial?
Hmm, I'm already creating this in HL2: EP2. Should I just create entities that type's are "info_player_counterterrorist" and "info_player_terrorist"?
