As you may already know, being stranded on an island would totally suck. You would have to punch rocks and trees in order to survive, and you would constantly be on the look out for floating supernatural humanoid beings that create flying green monsters out of thin air. But its not all bad right? At least the island has a good sky box and a descent lay out, right? At least you have plenty of room to stretch your legs, right?

    WRONG!

I'm speaking of course about the current available maps for [BB]Stranded. There are two maps, both of which aren't that good. I mean don't get me wrong they're enjoyable maps, but they get boring after a short while. Think back to when we had RP08 running strong and we were on maps like City 18 and that other really huge one with the brainwashing center. The maps were so huge that you could never get bored (just ask me, I spent 800+ hours on that shit).

So what I'm saying is, post your ideas for new stranded maps so I can brush up on my hammer skills (lawl wut skills) and create something magnificent! I'd like it to be more realistic, as in look like an island and not a sand bar with rocks and trees.

I was thinking something along the lines of this:

You do NOT go 2 years without a re-install of GMod. It's impossible. Author doesn't have it anymore either.

Well, some people like me happen to backup everything I don't want to re-download. It's the smart thing to do.

Most people at least once a year lose all their information.

Well gms_lagoon looks pretty so I know what you guys are looking for now. Also, is there some sort of special thing I have to do with the trees/rocks, or does the game mode take care of that?

One thing that I think would be enjoyable, is a map that stretches to source's limits, and just lots of islands.

You know, these sort of maps are probably not even hard to make.

I'm thinking of something where you have a large playable area but you wouldn't be able to just swim from one little island to another. You see, there would be just one large island with forest and mountain type areas all over it. Caverns, cliffs (like walking through tall brush and then all of the sudden 20 foot drop... And maybe a few surrounding islands that you could go to and from

Have you ever seen the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks? That sort of island.

These maps are easy to make, maybe BB should make it's own map.

A map that went to the limates would be a bit too big imo.

I've spent the last few days learning how to use hammer from scratch. So far I have this:

*Edit: Any criticism would be appreciated, because at this point I don't know what the community wants. I'm working on getting the texture blending right, and I'm going to shape the island into something a little more creative.
