    hi, i am currenctly attempting to fix a laptop that will not connect to the internet through LAN or wirless and just displays "local only" where the network icon is in taskbar.

    Try downloading new network drivers for it
    Check for a switch for the wireless (On the laptop)
    Enable internet.

    I'm on work experience for a company called ISIS who help people get apprenticeships , and work with companies to train their staff for NVQ's

    Works always boring on a friday I find, No-one cant be arsed to start anything, so I sat there at my desk, eating jaffa cakes and looking for a new phone :)
