Not an Nvidia fanboy. ATI sucks ass, and the drivers are terrible, had really bad experiences with their cards...never again!
Here's the comparason between Nvidia and ATI: Nvdia from what I've seen in the long run can produce more graphic power, however their drivers are also unstable and are more vunerable to crashes. ATi, Not as much power, but they tend to be stable as fuck. Then again, as long as you don't be stupid with a PC, you're not going to break the card. Times are tough, people don't exactly have money to save, instead they have the cash in hand at the time and thus they go for it there and then. Then again, I guess asking people to borrow money is easier I suppose. I'm not a fanboy of either card, I've used both products at one time or another and they've satisfied me greatly.
This bit is true. I've gone through 2 ATi graphics cards, both of them fucked up and the drivers screwed up and my games looked like this : However, before my cards fucked up, they served me very well so I would recommend them. I have no idea what caused my card to do that but I hope it doesn't happen to you if you decide to get one.
Yea if you have problems with Nvidia drivers try this website. http://www.omegadrivers.net/ (they heavily modify the drivers and fix a lot of problems the official drivers don't fix) They also have ATI drivers but I'm still never going own another one ever again.
What the fuck. Build your mass extractors. Me myself not knowing alot about computers cant help. Sorry.
That, building comp... ---------- Post added at 08:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:36 PM ---------- http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/ShoppingCart.aspx?Submit=view Good mobo, processor,Ok gpu, good ram.Great case.Overall its pretty good for that price.
No games even utilize DX11 yet so whats the point? Besides Nvidia 300 series cards come out later this year and no doubt they will have DX11. ---------- Post added at 05:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:28 PM ---------- It's going to be a while before games can even fully utilize DX11
To be honest, any DX9+ now is not that going to be a massive change. Each upgrade from Direct X up until 9 was a major change in the design and fundamentals of the engine. DX10 / 11 are now pretty much just optimization. This is why Nvidia is pretty much saying "Yeah, DX isn't as important as it used to be".
Mine- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM Hard Drive: 320 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output All of this cost me about £550 (1000$) so just half the power/ half the cost: Simples!
I guess you bought it around 2 years ago?Because thats computer is worth like 400-500ish dollars.Barely
Atchully I brought it a year ago, and it runs everything fine at high framerates. Can even run Crysis and Farcry2 at max with a soild framerate.
