I believe a few people here have and they end up being sucked into the game. I tried it and personally it really wasn't for me.
I tried it a few years ago, it seemed ok although the basic noob-introduction is extremely long, I think it took up a good portion of a trial I had just to get the basic understanding. I'd probably play it if it was F2P.
I play it it's a very steep learning curve, give us your name and i'll give you a hand, Although might not be on for a bit due to me breaking my laptop -_- It technically can be free to play
If you treat it like a job and farm whatever that currency is ingame yeah, doesn't sound like fun to me.
Half of the game is the fact you just set your ships to do stuff apparently, and they'll do it whilst you're logged off.
Blackdog was the biggest advocate here, not sure where he is. I know he used to play like a few months ago, idk about recently
Yeah Blackdog did play quite a bit, And in reply to teddi's comment Thats not technically true. The only thing that happens when you log of is your skill training queue continues. It's a bitch but skills level up on their own and there's little way you can change how it works. For example to get to level 1 in something you stick it in the queue and 10-50 mins later youll be that level. You have a maximum length your queue can be which keeps you logging on. I literelly didn't play at all the past 4-5 months i just logged on every few days to load my queue up. I didn't pay RL money for my time so it worked out great. Any now im reaping the rewards
yeah course whats your steam name? i should be on pretty much all of tonight Also eww your a gallentrian
So our first day consisted of: - Spending ages finding each other - Deciding to fight some stuff, - Kite Dying due to me being silly - Spending lots of money - Deciding to fight some stuff, - Killing stuff - Kite taking all the rewards! Yay ;D
I still go back to EVE every couple of months, its def not a game for everyone, but hella fun if you can be sucked into it
