    you can't edit a gcf lol...

    go into gmod folder and delete this file, and replace with the one I attached

    materials/console/background01.vtf

    Yes I do. You can't edit the GCF files themselves, only extract contents with GCFScape and place them in certain folders which the game will read and if server is not sv_pure/consistency for those files it will then use them instead ie. custom skins.

    If you edited the gcf directly it would be considered cheating by VAC as this would allow bypassing of of sv_pure1/2 and sv_consistency 1

    Just delete the folder materials/console

    And the GCF will replace it with the default.
