    Official Thread/Downloads:
    Choose between 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, 256x quality textures.

    Photo Realism:

    RPG Realism (I have not tried this pack, it's a separate pack on the page):

    Just use 'MCUpdater HD Fix' to patch minecraft.jar which will allow you to use this HD pack. The link is in the first post, just choose the scale of the textures you want (256 is the best looking obviously).

    I'm using this now and it's amazing.

    Note: An alternative to MCUpdater is the "Optifog+Optimine Mod." But the 1.8 version is still in dev so watch out for it, this mod also works to boost fps and performance on minecraft regardless of whether you use texture packs or not.

    Looks great, but mine crashes enough for no reason anyway (the odd virtual memory error too) when my specs are fine, so dunno if I'd add this.

    /*Try below methods first
    **Upgrade to Java 64-bit. That's why you're crashing, windows installs 32-bit by default. I get no crashes on two PCs running 64-bit and the other one running 32-bit crashes all the time.
    */Try below methods first

    Another method to allow java to have more memory allocated is to follow this link http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/350344-allocating-more-memory-to-java-windows/

    EDIT: In some case 64-bit Java might break things, like keep minecraft.exe from connecting to the internet. In that case stick with the latest 32-bit and follow this video

    Also turn off Advaneced OpenGL, that cause memory issues.

    I prefer the BSD pack. Makes things look generally nicer as the textures the hi res / photorealism packs use pretty much hurt my eyes.
