Anyone have any opinions? I included prices in case anyone has any suggestions. I already have hard drives covered with two 750GB Caviar Blacks. Motherboard ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Intel Z68 ($250) CPU Intel Core i7-2600K ($320) CPU Cooler Corsair Hydro H100 CPU Liquid Cooler ($100) RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 ($100) Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 580 (3GB GDDR5) ($500) Sound Card Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium Fatality Champ ($150) Optical Drive Lite-On 12X Internal Blu-Ray Writer ($120) Case Corsair Obsidian 800D Full Tower ($250) PSU Ultra X4 Gold Edition Modular Power Supply 1000W ($200)
Do you rest your pc on a hard floor or desk? (the tower) Edit: Although your using water cooling for the cpu are you for gpu? if so nevermind
Why would you spend $2k on a computer? You really don't need that much power as much as you think you do. Tbh, a computer that can run everything on max is only about $1000. Your just going over the edge. By the time that a game comes out that can fully utilize your computer, the same specs would cost $500+ less.
Ya it is, I was just gonna say that that case has had a bunch of issues being on think carpets as the intake fans are one the bottom and the feet are thin and have sunk into carpets
Pretty much that. If you can afford it which I assume you can comfortably then fair enough, but you don't need to spend nearly that much on a computer that can still run top end games.
Ah shit, thanks. There's a couple things I'm still not really sure of yet. Mostly the case, the mobo, and the PSU, simply because I don't really study/hear news about those things. I considered going over the top with a LED case and whatnot, but I don't really know yet. Thanks Bundt/Kaiden, I was mostly going for a future-proof build I guess. I'd honestly rather go for a computer that will last me 3-5 years than replace parts over the same time period though, just a personal preference.
Yea for 1000w on PSU anything over $150 is overkill (and even then you are really overpaying). All the stuff you have listed is a waste of money pretty much. If you buy it, in the next 2-3 years you will feel like shit for wasting your money on it.
Gonna add: CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K ($320) - Waste unless you plan on doing video rendering and stuff like that. 2500k has almost the same stats and is $100 cheaper.
