We'll need to roll back to 1.8.1 if we're gonna do the race.

No, just some things specific from 1.0 we don't want.

 

IMO, 1.0.0 is rather idiotic because I fail to see any changes whatsoever from RC2. The double door bug is still there and putting torches under dragon eggs still crash the game, although, on Linux servers, I have seen a slight reduction in the occurrence of that shitty error: "Internal server key invalid" or something along those lines.

 

From RC2-release only "very minor tweaks" were made.

 

And this release just proves Minecraft is as shit as it really is. Sure it's fun here and there but 80% of the promised additions have never turned up.
And it still uses 1GB of RAM (or wants to)

Which really sucks for my Linux server with 512MB of RAM. It runs most of the time, gets slow every once in a while, mainly when generating new chunks.
