Ok, I got to my router's settings and It's asking me for start, end, protocol, and ip to be filled in, I'm not sure what to put in, I changed my laptop's ip to 192.168.1.3 while my desktop is 192.168.1.1

Fill start and end with the port numbers. Application name, just put in anything to help you remember what the port forward is. Protocol is probably TCP but just leave it at both. Fill the last section of the IP address with the IP that you are HOSTING THE SERVER ON. Then check the enable box and save.

Note: Router IPs can switch by themselves, so your may end up being 192.168.1.2, etc.

Also see if you can assign your public IP address to your computer (DMZ I think)

Oh yeah, I should probably mention that the server host and router are in the same wireless system and have the same ip adress (2 different computer though)

If 2 computers have the same local IP address the router will freak out.

What Zeke said really, just fill in the fields.

You will need to forward ports 4380 - 4380 as UDP and 27000 - 27030 as TCP (The ports for Garrysmod (I think)). The IP address that you need to forward it to, check this with 'ipconfig' in command prompt and then use the IP address under the 'IPv4 address'. Once that is done, save it and it should work.

If all else fails, use Hamachi.

It's minecrafy so I don't think you can hamachi this, but when I type in all the fields, and click save changes, it tells me that the webpage can't be loaded, and did I mention that I'm using the same wireless connection to do this?

The IP address in your address field looks like your local one, I can't access my router through my local IP, but might depend on make/model. Go here: http://www.whatismyip.com/ and type the IP you get from that in your address bar - then try it.

Ok, I'm now on mozilla, on my REAL Ip adress, and It works to apply stuff, but it asks me for four ports. WAN and LAN start and end ports, I just put 25565 into all of them and confirmed, did I do this right?

Alright, I'm almost there, I have a program that does it automatically, but when it asks for the computer ip, It won't work because same ip = it forwards the port to itself, and it won't work

This is easy stuff to do. Why the hell do you need a program to do it for you? If you followed my directions exactly, you have forwarded your ports.

    Yah, 'cept it doesn't work.

In addition, what the hell bundt if everyone got banned for an image macro like me, the server would be half as populated
